Artist Statement
Over the past 2 years in film photography, I have learned so much. Having different knowledge about film types and the formats for a well published photo were also very interesting. My photos usually are a long depth of field for portraits or landscapes. I never had any of my models looking directly into the camera, but have them show emotion, that was not dramatic. Also, I mostly tried to fill the frame with any of my portraits without a busy background.
With film photography, I needed burning in a couple of my earlier photos, but the split filters helps in several photos of mine. Over the past few semesters, my most growth was in trying new ideas. For example, as I used split filters, I had trouble reaching the right amount of contrast. In the future, I would continue to shoot portraits, but make them more dramatic with lighting changes or even outfit choices.
